An interesting, but lacking, piece

In my honest opinion, this song was actually quite capable of making a good impression, but what most likely killed it was the overdrawn "opening" sequence that gradually led into the final third of the song. I feel that this would have done better if everything before 1:18 had simply been removed, and then the following beat been worked on a bit more.

Simply said, the ending to this song was actually a bit catchy as well as enjoyable, but the beginning to this song just didn't present anything new or purposeful, or that the second half already managed to attain. It needs work, but it isn't all bad.

Ah, I can see it now...

"YAR, THOMAS FEEMWORTH. This be the LAST time you come aboard my ship and cross my plans to take over this wretched planet!"

"Not if I have anything to say about it, you undead PUNK! HIYAHHH!!!"

Definitely, definitely well suited for a space sort of battle between the protagonist and the pirates. It reminds me of the celestic days of Tales of Symphonia, while the guitar's WELL PLACED position gives it a more hardcore sense of "finality", that being a final confrontation that will decide the fate of the planet. I especially like the "sliding groove" beginning at about 2:00 that seems to course the song from its powerful beginning into the "lull" of music that aids to cover the expanse of the following battle.

Although there ARE some awkward moments in the music, such as the lighter notes towards the ending third of the song (which could be switched out for a more devious instrumental sound), in general, I view this as a wonderful piece to use as the climactic beginning to a war for control. This certianly has potential!

I see ye enjoy te pirates, arrRRRRR
pirates > ninjas

It's... a bit unorthodox...

I like your idea of getting right into the action from the very beginning of the song, but the VERY sudden "sliding up and down" sound is very disorienting unless you already know it's about to happen.

My personal suggestion would be to take the section beginning at, say, 0:50, putting THAT as the starting of the song, and then placing the beginning of THIS song in the middle. by switching the two parts, you have a piece that starts with multiple instruments to appeal to the listener's tastes, and then gradually focuses on one particular sound to bring out the force behind this piece.

That's not to say the SOUND couldn't use some fixing itself, though, but my primary thoughts here are on the general flow of the song.

I see what you did there...

The influence from the original Pokemon game songs is certainly present.

Hawt.

Definitely a mixed reaction.

While the opening lacked slightly in style, flare, and memorability, the main section of this song was certianly a step up, combining a mini techno beat with chorus backgrounds to create two completely separate mediums that nevertheless worked well together.

As for your second part, the only thing I saw wrong with it was how "soft" it played. While I understand the intent was likely to udnermine the instrumental impact, it seemed to only remove an amount of emotion. Perhaps causing it to GRADUALLY GET LOUDER as the section continued would have better utilized the style you went after.

But hey, I'm a megaman fan, so I like the song anyway. Just take into account my minor thoughts on the subject ;3

It doesn't have quite the same tang.

Simply not the same in feeling as the one I've grown accustomed to, but it certainly does bring back memories. AND HOPES FOR THE FUTURE ;3

Darkar responds:

Hell yeah! XD

Very well made!

The opening piano section reminded me a LOT of the piano combination from D-Technolife of Bleach, and when I showed this song to a piano enthusiast, she absolutely loved it.

You've struck gold here, sir, and I commend you for it. Excellent work.

Amazing. Simply Amazing

This song is OUTSTANDINGLY fun in Rythmblaster, but even MORE fun to listen to in itself. Definitely adding this to my ipod. Kudos, DavidKracht :3

Ahh.... the classics

Always good to hear a classic song revamped, or just a classic song altogether. Thanks for rekindling my love for the original game. I think I'll go play it on my genesis right now :3

You're welcome... although you may be disappointed by how the original song sounds. My suggestion is to mute the volume on your TV and play this song while you play Star Light Zone.

P.S. In case you don't know (but I'm almost certain you do): Pressing Up, Down, Left, Right, then holding A and pressing start takes you to a level select screen. I'm telling you this so you can get to the Star Light Zone faster.

Simply amazing.

I may not be able to make flash, but I certainly imagine what i'd create if I could, and your song gives me so many "final boss" or "hectic moment" scenes it's almost unbearable.

You've probably seen tis dozens of times by now already, but wonderful work. This is outstanding in itself. :3
